My interest in The Culinary Arts began in Elementary School where I excelled in Cooking Class and failed miserably in Wood Shop. My Mother was a Great Cook and an even Better Baker who encouraged my Culinary Creativity. High School Summer Jobs included being a Dishwasher and Pot Boy in a New Jersey YMCA Camp; where The Chef took me aside to teach cooking skills. A part time job in Graduate School found me working in a University Dining Hall Kitchen.
Fast Forward; I was living in Grenada and traveling throughout The Eastern Caribbean. Fascinated by and Passionate about The Local Cuisine; I made friends with a Native Chef and hung out in the Chef's kitchen adding a New Set Of Culinary Skills. Moving back to the USA; I was financially broke and unable to find a job. I enrolled in a Job Training Program learning to become a Professional Chef. I have cooked in Upscale Hotels, Resorts and Private Clubs in The United States and The Grand Cayman before developing my Personal Gourmet Product Line “Caribbean Sunset Gourmet”.
Pictured with me is “Lola”. I Rescued “Lola” from “The Kill List” at The Local Dog Pound.
